Waldringfiled Sailing club - Tuesday, January 16, 2007 9:49:05 PM
Hi this feels like I'm going mad and talking to myself given that I havent actually told anyone about this blog site as yet but I thought I should try out a post to test that the blog site actually works so here goes ....
So Hi everyone this is the proposed new blog web site for the sailing club and hopefully a way for all memebers to share their thoughts, ideas and memories with all club members.
This blog is a means to record anything at all that you want to share with the wider club community whether that be a great photo, video, new training courses, tips for sailing, key dates, race results, information about the club or dinghy boats. Whatever you like.
You can even use to let others know about 'wanted' or items for sale if you wish.
This blog works on a 'account only' basis. This means you must become a vox (hoster of this blog) member if you wish to contribute to the blog. So its not completely open to the public but there is a level of private-ness to it.. However this is a trial approach. It it urns out that we (club members) prefer an more private appraoch to allowed bloggers then we have the facilty to apply a more secure approach by inviation only. Lets see how it goes and please let me have your comments.
So go ahead and lets hear about what you would like to share with the other club members. I would love to see any old photos of the club or river surrounding the club house, any one got some to share ?
Just a small note - as this is a FREE site hosted for us by vox.com we do have a 2GB monthly limit but I dont feel we will break this limit for some time to come
Happy blogging!!
oh, just let me know if you have any Q's that you can think of and Ill try and answer as quick as I can.
cheers
matt

THE PONTOON THING
are you aware of this project? are you appraised of the arguments being made for and against it? If you are younger you may well think this is a stupid spat amongst the oldies of the club. How wrong you would be. It will have significant impact on your enjoyment, not only of sailing at the Club but also your time spent at Waldringfield generally. Democracy has a purpose and in this case everybody affected should make his opinion known so that the right decision (to build it or not) is made for current and future generations of people visiting Waldringfield.
We urge you, everyone, to get informed, be clear about the veracity of the arguments, form a view and when asked, attend the Extraordinary or special general meeting to vote.
